NBA 2K27
HDR analysis and setup guide for NBA 2k27 on PC.
I would expect HDR to be the same on PS5 and SS/SX, but that I have not tested.
DLSS 5:
This is NOT with DLSS 5. I will look at HDR again when DLSS 5 releases, to see how DLSS 5 handles HDR.
Graphics and HDR looks great to me.
Peak Brightness:
The game gets peak brightness from Windows HDR calibration app. It outputs that value in its brightest highlights. That's great.
Black levels and shadows:
Black levels look fine to me, with good shadow detail.
Mid tone brightness (paper white):
We have an in-game brightness slider that adjusts the overall brightness of the game.
The brightness slider is my only nitpick. When increasing it it pushes secondary highlights too aggressively into peak brightness, meaning it has only a bit of a roll off at peak brightness. So increasing it too much blows out highlight detail.
The game outputs around 200-225 nits paper white at default on the brightness slider. That's a good mid tone brightness for gamers with 800-1200 nits TVs in a dark room.
Increasing the brightness slider by two clicks increases paper white to 300-350 nits, it looks like. That's for 1800+ nits TVs.
