HDR analysis Avowed on PC.

It’s a pretty standard HDR implementation.

Max Luminance:
It’s setup in-game and can go up to 10.000 nits. See picture 1.
The game outputs a bit too low max luminance. When you set it to 1000 nits it outputs 930 nits and if you set it to 2000 nits it only outputs 1650 nits. See picture 3 and 4. So set it a little higher.

Black levels:
Black levels are adjusted in-game on the contrast slider. There is a massive black level raise at standard settings. Set it at 920 for perfect black level floor. Picture 2 uses 920 contrast.
The shadows also look good to me. Not too bright and not too dim.

Paper white:
It can’t be adjusted in-game. The game outputs 203 nits, like most games. That’s fine for a TV capable of 800-1200 nits.
If you need more paper white then there is a native RenoDX mod, where you can increase game brightness and make better fine tuning of the HDR.

I think the HDR overall is good enough.
